The Maine Event: Part 3

Day 4:  Our final day immersing ourselves in Vacationland, was full of classic Maine tourism.  The afternoon was full of lobster and moose shopping for Kenzie in downtown Portland.  We then threw on our slickers, for a lobster cruise in Casco Bay, with a 90% chance of seeing seals sunbathing on "Seal Rock."  10% seems much bigger when you fall in it.  Either way, we all loved the cruise!

 Preparing the bait

 Baiting the traps
Measuring to see if its a keeper -- for those keeping score, it was!

 Banding action

And with that our vacation came to a close.  Our first family vacation was filled with friends, food, relaxing, and fun!  We had the BEST time with Chelsea, Jason, and Maisy-pup, and can't wait to see them again soon.

This is how Kenzie felt about leaving!!...Although that was some of it, Mackenzie started teething while on vacation.  Made for a bit of a dicey plane ride home!

The Maine Event: Part 2

Day 2:  The weather Sunday was perfect for a day at Crescent Beach.  We enjoyed a day of sun (too much), ladder ball, seagulls, and Kenzie enjoyed some sand!

The night ended, with dinner, which included Don's first taste of lobster at the Portland Lobster Company.

Day 3:  Was a day of shopping for Chelsea and I, and Disc golf for Jason and Don.  We ordered in Thai food and had a Whoopie pie tasting.  Our faces and stomach were stuffed, so there was no time for pictures!  Although, since Kenzie seemed ready to chow down on the curry, we thought we'd take advantage and try some applesauce.

The Maine Event: Part 1

A week ago, we began the total imersion of "Maineism".  We had the best time ever with the most gracious hosts!...once we got there of course.  Our trip started Friday with a planned "quick" 4-hour plane ride from Rochester to Portland, with a quick stop in Baltimore.  Unfortunately, that did not happen.  After 4 hours of delays, a canceled flight, and a 6 hour stay in a Baltimore hotel, a stroller testing positive for explosives--we were off to Portland, no Boston.   With no flights to Portland until Saturday night, we booked a 6am flight to Boston.  Which turned out to be a great side trip.

Day 1:  The 5 of us decided to make our side trip to Boston worth it and take in the sites.  First stop, the Samuel Adams brewery, after breakfast at Angela's Cafe, Faneuil Hall.

Donny and I can now mark Fenway Park off of our "Visit every baseball stadium before we die tour."  Turns out a minor league game was being played that afternoon...what are the odds of that?!?  Donny and Jason were pumped!  Chelsea and I just planned out photoshoots and enjoyed some milkshakes!

We rounded out the evening with a walk by the water and pizza!
