Gut Laughin Kenzie

Kenzie was in quite the mood last night.  As funny as Don and I usually are, we were just hysterical last night.  All throughout her bath she laughed and laughed at her Dad.  Then while I was getting her diapered up and in her PJs, she starting doing this.
Ignore my crazy, loud, and somewhat scary Da-Das - What can I say, I love that laugh and smile :)

Project 52{16}

52{16}
motherhood is:
wild

Look at this hair!  Not only has it lightened even through the winter months, but it just keeps growing.  While the inverted bob is growing out, it still remains longer in the front than the back.  (Don won't let me cut it)  Styling it is becoming tougher since she hardly wants to sit still to allow me to pull it out of her face.  And anytime she is left alone, whether its in her crib, carseat, or just gets bored with her toys,  her hair accessory always makes its way to her mouth.
Her hair may be wild, but 9.5 time out of 10 this little girl wakes up with this smile...and hair!

Motherhood is:
Surprising

Everyday can bring on a new surprise.  Even the slightest change, or development, or learned skilled is so exciting for us.
Kenzie has really been perfecting her walking skills after a few weeks of rough spills which led to crawling all the time.  She is also becoming an independent little lady when it comes to feeding herself.  She prefers our forks and spoons over her itty bitty cutlery.  She already LOVES sports.  We were so surprised and amused at how she gets SO EXCITED anytime basketball comes on TV.  We can be sitting in a restaurant, and hear her squeal after and catching a glimpse of ESPN.
Mackenzie gives us endless excitement and surprises.  I hope things never change.

Keeping the Opening Day streak alive..

This past weekend was Don's favorite day of the year...Opening Day.  So keeping with tradition we headed west to Cleveland, Ohio to see his (our) beloved Indians.  Initially we bought tickets to the 2nd game of the year, but guilt set in that we were already breaking Kenzie's opening day streak at 1.  ...So lucky for us, we went to 2 games this year!

So for Opening Day we spoiled ourselves and got seats 9 rows back and right behind homeplate.  This gave Kenz a good view of Slider and the hotdog condiments and all the dancing and entertaining that Progressive Field had to offer.  Despite a short nap and being contained in the car for most of the day, she was such a good Tribe fan.  The men behind us loved her and kept saying "what a trooper" she was, even though the game went into extra innings, and we lost the sun! Her only breakdown was when her buddy Slider tackled the ketchup bottle in the hotdog derby.  Poor thing never saw it coming.

Look at how much our little baby girl has changed -- don't worry there are more to come.

Friday started out with an early morning swim.  Can't say she loved it, but she seemed to tolerate sitting on the steps just fine.

We then headed off to the Cleveland Children's Museum.  This was a little big for our little lady, but we had a good time anyway.

We played house...

 And we did some grocery shopping...

And we played in a giant room of sand.  Mackenzie was not a huge fan of this room, but she started to warm up to it.

 And why not a little photoshoot...I love this little smile.

And we finished the day with a trip to the mall and ice cream!  We realized we could've saved the $21 bucks we spent at the museum, and gone to the pet store at the mall...FOR FREE!

To end our mini vacation we headed back to the ballpark for Game #2.  Once again Kenzie stole the heart of all the Tribe fans around us.  She missed her nap completely but was such a good girl!  She loved clapping to the music and stuffing her face with all-you-can-eat food!

Although it makes me a little sad to see how big Mackenize is getting, I'm loving the little lady she is turning into.  I love this little family of mine!

Motherhood is:
SO fun

Over the past weekend, we took a mini-vaca to Cleveland (blog pending).  Kenzie has really developed a personality over the past few weeks.  She says funny things like "Mum" instead of Moma, she bellylaughs uncontrollably when she is overtired, and she claps and shreaks anytime basketball is on the TV.  We are still working on mastering the walking thing, but until then, she continues to wrap her daddy around that finger!

Project 52{13}

Motherhood is:
unscheduled

So this post is about 5 days late.  And yes Kenzie is wearing Christmas pajamas 3 months late (9 months early).  But nowadays, that is just how things go.
Before Kenzie, I was always on time..read, early!  Things were in their place.  Schedules and lists were made and met.
But now this little lady is the boss.  Things are likely out of place and I'm probably forgetting something.  But we all do our best.
Schedules are made around her, but I can't imagine plans without her!
